He grew overnight!!

15 weeks

18 weeks

Need I say more?  Seriously...I was really tired all day yesterday, which is no longer my M.O. - then I fell asleep early and slept for a long time.  I woke up and could feel my "lower bunk" felt larger and harder.

I think that kiddo grew overnight!!

I had my midwife appointment yesterday and she seems thrilled with how healthy I am.  I've gained 11 pounds which I'm not thrilled with...and she loved.  She said I'm measuring 19 centimeters...whatever that means, which she also said was perfect.  After her slew of questions, she commented that I really am not having many of the negative symptoms most women face during this stage of pregnancy and she attributes it to my yoga practice.  So, yeah for yoga!

Jason is continuing to make me drink a fresh juice every day...so I'm keeping healthy on that front.

Something else occured to me yesterday, which just made me smile.  I realized that of all our three animal children, the only one that makes any noise is Willy.

Debbie meows...but silently, which basically looks like she's just opening her mouth.  Lucy, well....Lucy just doesn't say much. She's a chill girl.  Willy on the other hand makes up for both of them.  The thing that was cracking me up is the realization that Cody can hear Willy and can hear Jason and I talking to each other and to his animal siblings.  I think Cody will already know Willy when he arrives because of his meow.  Debbie and Lucy will probably have to be introduced to an extent.

Anyway...just fun stuff.

That's all for now.  Ciao!

Have I "popped"?

Yesterday Jason and I went to the dog park to take our little greyhound daughter for some play time.  Our neighbor (who also is a parent to two greyhounds...Abby and Bugly) was there.

I had just seen her the previous Saturday before heading to yoga and yesterday her eyes got all big and she said - Holy cow!  You have popped!

It's funny because just the day before I told Jason that I was pretty sure Cody was growing.  When he asked why I said that, I told him that when I was laying in bed on my back, my lower bunk felt bigger...and firmer.

I really didn't think much of it until my neighbor reacted.  So, here's the question.  Did I just eat a big lunch or have I "popped"?  Either way...I'm at 18 weeks today, so I know I'll start reaching that "obviously pregnant" stage very soon (I'm sure being short doesn't hurt there).  Some women carry their weight in their stomachs, so it's not necesssarily obvious when someone is pregnant vs. just big in the belly.  I think I'm starting to close that gap - particularly when I wear certain outfits.

The baby books say that it's not uncommon to start feeling the bambino moving around between 18-22 weeks.  I think thinner people will tend to feel them earlier.  I don't fit into that category, but I'm paying attention just in case!

According to the weekly emails I get from Baby Center, Cody is probably about 7 ounces now (almost a half pounder!) and a 5 1/2 inches head to booty...about the size of a bell pepper.

So, my kidney bean is now a bell pepper.  Isn't he cute?!!

Once I'm all showered and cleaned up, I'll have to get another profile shot and compare to three weeks ago!  Will keep you posted!
